Gwydir Valley growers hostconfiguration trial
The Christmas-New Year period brought the precious gift of rain with many of us receiving the best falls for some time.
Albeit some cotton in southern Queensland and northern NSW was also damaged with storms bringing hail.
These storms and rainfall will enable many to have enough water to see their cotton crops through to February.
In the bare fallow this rain will be stored in the soil bucket and carried forward for the winter and/or summer cropping programs with some opting to plant short season mung beans.
In the Gwydir valley we have seen day degrees track slightly above average, with crop stage varying from sixteen nodes to twenty-four nodes, setting up a strong finish with fantastic yield potential.
